Soo today in class we watch à video on
how the troops lifes are when they return home.
It's really sad to know that people
who is serving us can get trumitize and
get panic problems. It's also really sad to know
that if they see a kid with a gun they have
to kill the kid because either one
of the. Has to die.0ur soilders pass through so many
difficulties.
So for today we had to do presentations. We went into two class rooms each group and we talk about our project. We talked about what was operation gratitude and we talked about all the things the letters could have. We also started on our own letter and i finishes mine. For tomorrow I want to get more people to write letters, I want to make more posters and I would want to write the soilers some poems.
I miss my wife and children, I know you'd be the same,
humans need their families, they're worth much more than fame.
I want to work and pay my way, to be the same as you,
all I ask in return, is respect from just a few.
I had to leave my homeland, my children and my wife,
to find a safer place to live, and to save my life.
What you take for granted we are not allowed,
we must say things quietly, while you can shout out loud.
You can walk for miles on end, without the need for fear,
I just want to do the same and to bring my family here.
Until you get to know me, don't make a song and dance,
try to learn who I am, just give me a change.
Before you make a judgment try to understand,
I come for your democracy, not to steal your land.
I do not ask for sympathy, just a friendly ear,
to listen to my troubles and help me bring some cheer.
If you've listen to all I've told you, you should now clearly see,
First I am a human being, who wants to live in peace.
This is a poem I wrote for my project what talks about the iimigrants life and how the feel when they are being judged for no reason or when they are being seperated from their families.
MEXICO CITY — Yet another macabre mystery of Mexico's drug war — the presumed slaughter of 20 tourists in Acapulco — apparently has been solved by thugs who detained the killers, posted their confessions on the Internet, then murdered them and led police to the crime scene.
Police were searching for two more bodies Thursday in a coconut grove near the Pacific Coast resort, where they had pulled 18 bodies from a shallow grave Wednesday. Though officials are waiting for DNA evidence or identification by relatives today, those in the grave are believed to be the tourists from neighboring Michoacán state who were abducted in Acapulco five weeks ago.
The men had vanished shortly after arriving in Acapulco — which in recent times has become known as much for brutality as beaches — for what family members said was an annual party weekend.
Police were led to the grave site Wednesday by an anonymous call alerting them to the bodies of two murdered men lying side by side in the brush not far from the Acapulco airport. A placard left with the bodies advised authorities that “those they killed are buried here.”
A video posted earlier Wednesday on YouTube showed an efficiently conducted interrogation of the two men, one of whom confessed to helping snatch and kill 20 tourists at the behest of Edgar “La Barbie” Valdez, a Texas-born narcotics trafficker. Until his arrest near Mexico City in late August, La Barbie was considered one of the Mexican underworld's more vicious leaders.
The person conducting the interrogation is neither identified nor visible.
The tourists, who had arrived in Acapulco in four vehicles bearing Michoacán plates, apparently were believed to be members of La Familia, Michoacán's homegrown mafia that has distinguished itself with savagery. They were seized near the beach city's premier hotels by armed men traveling in SUVs without license plates, witnesses said.
Their families have insisted the abducted men were not gangsters.
“Check out their identities,” the sobbing wife of one of the men implored the kidnappers in a televised interview days after the abduction. “These are working people.”
No ransom demand was ever received for the men, and they haven't been heard from again.
Their alleged killers said in the video confession the tourists were targeted in revenge for La Familia's winning control of a small city from La Barbie's narcotics gang.
“This was all done because of La Familia,” one of the men said in the video, which appeared to be filmed in the stairway of a house. “Because they took control of Altamirano.”
Gangsters in recent months have used such Internet-broadcast confessions to discredit police and other officials or accuse rivals of atrocities. In several cases, federal authorities have made arrests based on the video-taped confessions.
In another video posted on YouTube two weeks ago, a man identified as an Acapulco city policeman also confessed to taking part in the abduction.
Questioned police-style, with rifles pointed at his head, the man said he also worked for La Barbie. He accused senior members of the local and state police forces of directing the crime.
A bustling port and a resort still favored by many Mexicans, Acapulco has been a major battlefield in the four years of heightened gangland warfare that has racked Mexico. Gangsters from the so-called Pacific Cartel, including La Barbie, have fought criminal rivals and Mexican security forces for control of the city.
Michoacán officials say they have found no connection between the missing men and La Familia.
Drug Cartels Wars are a major problem in Mexico right now. Many pople in Mexico are scared to go out because they dont want to get killed. Also people ate scared to go to Mexico for vacation because they dont want anything to happened to them.
(CNN) -- U.S. President Barack Obama paid tribute Thursday to American troops who 60 years ago fought a Communist regime that he said continues to be a provocative threat to peace in the region.
Speaking on Veterans Day at the U.S. Army garrison in Yongsan, South Korea, the president drew parallels between America's ally and North Korea.
"Today, the Korean peninsula provides the world's clearest contrast between a society that is open and one that is closed; between a nation that is dynamic and growing, and a government that would rather starve its people than change," the president said in remarks prepared for U.S. military personnel and members of their families.
Obama, who made a reference to South Korea's claim earlier this year that North Korea sank one of its vessels, said the United States "will never waver in our commitment to the security of the Republic of Korea."
North Korea has another path besides pursuing nuclear weapons, Obama said.
"If they choose to fulfill their international obligations and commitments to the international community, they will have the chance to offer their people lives of growing opportunity instead of crushing poverty," he said.
Obama is in South Korea for Thursday's opening of the G-20 summit, which will try to stabilize the world's financial markets.
The president paid tribute to generations of men and women who served in the U.S. military.
He praised South Korean troops and Americans who fought during the 1950-53 Korean War.
"Gentlemen, we are honored by your presence," Obama said of Korean War veterans in the audience Thursday. We are grateful for your service. And the world is better off because of what you did here."

The crowd roared when the president acknowledged the 62 veterans.
"They are all standing," he said. "Looks like they're doing great. Let's give them a hand."
Obama also thanked those currently serving in South Korea, saying they "carry on the legacy of service and sacrifice."
The president later attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Yongsan War Memorial. The president placed his hand on his heart before troops fired a 21-gun salute.
The president's visit to Seoul will include a meeting with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and a meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Tensions about currency and trade are likely to run high at the G-20 meeting, which will be held Thursday and Friday in Seoul, the South Korean capital.
Officials in China and the United States have accused the other of manipulating its currency at the expense of other economies. And the G-20 has acknowledged that the global economic recovery is advancing in "a fragile and uneven way."
Widespread protests are expected at the summit, for which South Korea has mobilized its largest security force ever, according to the Yonhap news agency. A total of 50,000 police and riot police are being deployed, authorities told Yonhap.
A number of South Korean union and civic groups are gearing up for large protests against the G-20, while other groups are planning unrelated rallies in hopes of drawing international media attention.
Protests by Muslims in Indonesia also preceded Obama's visit there. But the president focused on the two countries' shared principles of unity and tolerance when he delivered a highly anticipated speech at the University of Indonesia right before he left for South Korea.
In his speech, Obama reflected on the four years he spent in Indonesia as a child, referring to how he and his family were warmly accepted. He drew cheers when he sprinkled sayings from the local Malay language, such as "Selamat Datang" -- a greeting of welcome -- and the national motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika," which means "unity in diversity."
Noting that Malay is one of hundreds of languages of the archipelago nation, Obama lauded Indonesia for its spirit of inclusiveness despite its diverse population and history of dictatorship.
"But even as this land of my youth has changed in so many ways, those things that I learned to love about Indonesia -- that spirit of tolerance that is written into your constitution, symbolized in your mosques and churches and temples standing alongside each other; that spirit that is embodied in your people -- that still lives on," he said.
Grappling with a troubled U.S. economy, the Obama administration has highlighted the strengthening of economic and military ties during the president's 10-day Asia tour. Obama started his trip with a three-day stay in India, before heading to Indonesia.
Speaking in New Delhi on Monday, Obama said, "We make some of the best products in the world and we want to sell them to a growing Indian market."
At the Seoul summit, G-20 leaders are expected to focus on the global economic recovery and mechanisms to ensure balance and sustainable growth.
"We see the G-20 as fundamental not just to our international economic agenda, but to our ability to have a lasting recovery at home, because fostering balance, global growth is essential to fostering growth here in the American economy," Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications said ahead of Obama's Asia trip.
Collectively, the Group of 20 accounts for about 85 percent of global economic output. The 1997 Asian financial crisis prompted the creation of the group. The G-20 includes industrialized nations and developing economies, which focus on economic issues and economic policy coordination.
"If you look at the trend lines in the 21st century, the rise of Asia, the rise of individual countries within Asia, is one of the defining stories of our time," Rhodes said.

No on Proposition 22! Bad for Children, Seniors and Taxpayers!
Proposition 22 reduces funding for education, shrink budgets for fire and public safety and make it even harder to balance the state’s general fund budget.
Proposition 22 also locks in protections for redevelopment agencies into California’s constitution. They use local property taxes to fund subsidies for local developers — with no direct voter oversight.
Amending California’s constitution to reduce education funding, shrink budgets for fire and public safety and make it much harder to balance
the state budget is the wrong choice.
Our constitution should not be used to punish California’s most vulnerable
people and protect developer subsidies http://votenoprop22.com/
This is are some reason of why people are against on proposition 22. It directly affects childrens, seniors, and tax payers. Its also going to have an impact on education, it affects their budget. Its going to be harder to balance the state's general fund. These are just some examples of why people are against of this law. And why nobody should vote on it.

(CNN) -- A law initially opposed by Republicans has provided 3,600 small businesses with more than $1.4 billion in new loans since taking effect, President Barack Obama said Monday.
In remarks to workers at a Rhode Island manufacturing plant company, Obama touted his administration's steps to bolster small business growth as part of its economic recovery strategy. His visit came eight days before congressional elections expected to bring Republican gains in both chambers.
Obama cited 16 tax breaks for small businesses, including a credit for providing health insurance to workers, and noted the new law he signed in September already was making a difference.
"In less than a month since that new law took effect, more than 3,600 small business owners have already received more than $1.4 billion worth of new loans," Obama said.
He noted that the measure included tax breaks for small businesses and other provisions traditionally favored by Republicans, but GOP opposition held up its passage for months.
"I will confess I wish that Republican leaders in Congress had agreed earlier," Obama said, later adding that he hoped "my friends on the other side of the aisle are going to change their minds going forward."
Congressional Republicans criticized the measure as a form of bailout for small businesses. The bill only won Senate approval when two retiring Republicans broke from their caucus and voted with Democrats to move it forward.
Obama's remarks at the American Cord & Webbing Co. in Woonsocket allowed him to boast about how the government's Small Business Administration provided a loan that will help the company expand.
He joked that the company, which makes cords, buckles and plastic and metal hardware for sporting goods, outdoor goods, and travel gear, had "buckled down" to weather the recession.
"That's a pun," Obama said to laughter from the workers.
Candidates have pretty much influence on teens through social network. Many politicans have been using the social network for free publicity. We spend much of our time networking specially teens, so with this they become known quicklier and is free for them. 1. What things would you change about school and why? "About this school I would like to change the scheudle. There are so many kids who are not morning persons and because of that they dont come to their first periods and they are just falling. It would be cool to have like a mexican school system, like either choose to go to school in the morning or in the afternoon. or a block scheudle, or like collage whre you can choose the time you want to to go to school. My point is to choose the time when you want to start school."
2. Do you think there should be an age on teachers? Why?
"Thats a hard question. I dont think that age on teachers matters It all depends in the maturity of eache teacher. Young teachers are rally good, they just have to be mature enough and know how to keep the distance from students.
3. What would you change about your classrooms? "More technology to be more updated, computers so students could have access to them, and enough supplies and materias because we dont have enough books for everybody.
4. What do you think about school days?
"It depends, if longer means we start late so yeah its great"
5. Name the wrost and best aspects about your class?
"Some bad aspects its that some of my classes are too big, we dont have the right technology, we have old versions of programs and computers are too slow, we dont get our rooms clean that often, we dont have enough books for everystudent. They cant a book home to do their HW beacuse then we dont get them back on time and they are not going to be able to finish their work in class. and a good aspect would be my class size for one of my classes.
6. Do you think La SIerra HS students should wear school uniforms?
"they should becaue they would stop students from dressing inappropiate and their is not going to be a difference socialy like o that student is reach or poor because of the way they dress and students would be more focus on learning."
7.What do you think about the "No Child Left Behind" policy?
I think its good because they dont want no child to be left behind but i dont know the way they meassure it. They dont give us the support to support every student their is nothing to back us up like giving us enough materials for school so I dont think its really working.
8. do you think that kids are prepared to handle a job?
No, kids now days are lazy, they arent motivate it! In this era its hard to motivate the students, we try but some give up, they think that they are always right but they dont apreaciate what they have.
9. Do you think the process to fire people is fair?
!!NO!!
10. DO you think that teachers have enough time to teach for one hour every day?
We do have enough time but its never enough to teach all the concepts sometimes we have to stop because we are not done but i think we have a fair time but yeah we dont have enough time to review."
School bullying in the digital age can have tragic consequences. But should it be a crime?
It started with rumors, a love triangle, and a dirty look in a high-school bathroom. Soon jokes about an "Irish slut" cropped up on Facebook, and a girl’s face was scribbled out of a class photo hanging up at school. One day, in the cafeteria, another girl marched in, pointed at her, and shouted "stay away from other people’s men." A week later, as the girl walked home, a car full of students crept close. One kid hurled a crumpled soda can out the window, followed closely by shrieks of "whore!"
This is the conundrum of Phoebe Prince, the 15-year-old South Hadley
If your children had behaved like this, how would you want them punished? Certainly a proper grounding would be in order; computer privileges revoked. Detention, yes—maybe even suspension. Or what about 10 years in jail? Now what if we told you that the girl had gone home after the soda-can incident and killed herself—discovered by her little sister, hanging in a stairwell. Now which punishment fits the crime?
Bulling in school have always been a problem in all schools that have led into teens suicide. Many cases have been found where many childrens kill them selfs because of emotional downs that they have in school. If bulling is happening in your school, dont be scared to denounce it!.
A legal complaint alleges that the Big Easy’s schools discriminate against children with disabilities.
In July, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) filed a legal complaint against the Louisiana Department of Education alleging that schools have been turning away parents with disabled children and shirking their responsibilities to ensure that the special-needs students they do serve actually benefit from academic instruction. The complaint asserts that New Orleans schools are in violation of the federal Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), particularly in terms of excessive punishment of children with emotional and behavioral problems.
Under IDEA, all public schools must implement an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each special-needs student before taking punitive measures. However, suspension and expulsion rates of these students are shockingly high in New Orleans: overall, almost a third of the city’s 4,500 special-needs students have been suspended by the Recovery School District, the entity created by the state to take over failing New Orleans schools.
The data further suggest that when not suspended, disabled students aren’t getting the education they deserve, either because teachers aren’t working the IEPs or because they’re not identifying children who may suffer from learning disabilities. Perhaps as a consequence, only 6.4 percent of students with disabilities in the Recovery School District graduated in the 2008–09 school year, while 37 percent of them performed “well below grade level” and 50 percent failed to complete school altogether. In Baltimore, public schools graduated 24.2 percent of their special-ed students with a diploma, while 33.5 percent dropped out in 2007–08. St. Louis, another city with a similar student profile, graduated 29.5 percent of its disabled population, while 31.5 percent dropped out in 2008–09.
Refection
These is telling us that not all chindrens are getting the same education. Disabeled children are not getting the attention they need by teacher. As a concecuense less children with disabilities are graduatting.

During the class discution i was absent, so i don't really know what went on. I know the discusses about important topics that are
going on around the world. But if i was there i would've brought up about what i herd on the news. It was about the AZ SB1070. I herd that the senator of Arizona signed this law to block some parts of the imigration law. I think this is really important because this is really been talk about around the word. And I also herd that the senator is thinking in getting rid of this imigration law at all!.
Well today in class we were figuring out the meassage on some cartoons. There is one in specific that really cought my eye because is really true. The meassage says that Mexico celebrates therir freedom, their 200 years of independence and mexicans celebrate and throw out psrtys. But MeXico is not really free. They are free from spain but not from drug cartels. Mexico is recognize from drug violence. And mexicans sometimes dont want to go out somewhere because they are scared of might happen.
In clas weve been talking about the AZ SB 1070, which is enforcing immigrants laws. They defined this as ''criminal trespass in the first degree'' which states that a person entering this State illigaly are consider criminals.
This law has alot of enforcements like
-Alowing an officer ask people for papers.
-Alowing an oficcer arrest immigrants
and also they charge busnissess for hiring immigrants.
and their are more enforcements.
Abstract:
Everybody has diffenrent opinios about this but i think that this is inmoral. Many families are being seperated because family members have been deported. Immigrants are being treate as trash! and not equally. And I think that some americans governers are bein hypocrite when they say ''WE ARE EQUAL'' because that is not being consider in this AZ law.
